A Superfood Green Smoothie that doesn’t taste Green!

Spinach is the ideal choice for a green smoothie thanks to its neutral taste and ability to blend up without leaving little chunks in your drink. Since spinach is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it’s almost a shame not to toss a handful into every smoothie you make.

Hidden in that pile of greens are antioxidants, anti-inflammatory nutrients, and vitamins that promote vision and bone health

This smoothie is literally a meal in a glass, it tastes amazing and is incredibly nutrient dense! All you have to do is choose from the following to make this “equation” work for your goals. Simple as this.

5-MINUTE SPINACH SMOOTHIE = 2-3 cups raw spinach + 1 cup fruit + 1/2 cup liquid + 1 serving of healthy fat + 1 scoop of protein powder (optional) + 1 serving of superfoods

Fruits // apple, frozen banana, frozen pineapple, mango, pear, strawberries, blueberries, cherries
Liquid // coconut water or almond milk
Healthy fat // 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil,2 tablespoons chia seeds, 1-2 tablespoons of almond butter/nut butters you enjoy, 1/4 cup of almonds/cashews/walnuts
Protein // Any protein powder you prefer (especially if this is post workout).
Superfoods // Choose some of your favorite “superfoods” to add nutrients to this mix, add dates or stevia to sweeten, or chia seeds, flax seeds, oatmeal, etc. to make this more hearty and thick.

2-3 cups raw spinach
1 frozen banana
1/2 green apple
½ cup coconut water
½ cup ice
1 teaspoon flax seeds (ground)

Simply combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender until thick and creamy. You may adjust for your desired thickness by adding ice or removing liquid- opposite is true if you prefer it thinner.

I love lists, my hair always sits weirdly on my head, and I can't get through a day without obsessing over my 2 crazy pups. I haven’t changed much since I was a kid—illustrating, crafting and eating cookies are still at the top of my favourites list. When I’m not rambling about in my head looking for words, I’m found either glued to a computer or to a book.
